A representative of the Canadian Afghan Council thanked Ball organizers and patrons for their support of the cause of children in Afghanistan.

“It makes me so proud to be Canadian when I know I have fellow Canadians like yourselves doing so much for such a troubled land so far away,” said Madina Ahmidkohzad, a representative from the Canadian Afghan Council.

“Your efforts here today will literally save the lives of many orphaned children, let alone help give them an education.

“These kids are Afghanistan’s only chance of a bright path,” she said. “They are our hope for a peaceful Afghanistan where tyranny and ignorance have no place..”

The Afghan Council representative pointed out that both Polish and Canadian soldiers have given their lives to help bring peace to the war-torn country.
